The
Rev. M. David Kiel
was raised in Houston, Texas
and grew up in the congregation of
Grace Lutheran
Church. An
alumnus of Texas
Lutheran University
in Seguin, Texas,
David then served as a youth director at Gethsemane
Lutheran Church
in Austin,
Texas. In 1983, David began his
formal studies for the Ministry of Word and Sacrament at Luther Theological
Seminary in St. Paul,
Minnesota. He graduated from
seminary in 1987 and shortly thereafter was ordained, serving in his first
church in Maple Grove,
Minnesota. David is married to his
lovely wife, Renee (also an ELCA pastor and serving currently as an Army
Chaplain). Together they have three boys, Joseph and Justin
(twins), and Kristopher. David has served congregations in
Minnesota, Utah,
Iowa, and Texas.
David loves spending time with his family and enjoying the activities of
boating, riding a motorcycle, bicycling, cooking, reading, and playing and
singing with the guitar. He also enjoys the opportunity to snow ski
whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Organist
& Choir Director

Mitzi moved from Connecticut to
Granbury in 1989 and met members of Emmanuel in 1999. She started playing
for the Emmanuel choir a time later and the rest is history. Mitzi has four
sons: Timothy Vann, US Marine is
married; Joshua Vann, is married Christopher Vann, US Navy is also married;
and Cody Ames. The only child left
at home is "Pudge", the dog.
